Dark Knight
AF Coffers
Davoi - Pants
Oztroja - Body

AF 3
Start Area: Beadeaux
Start NPC: Zeid

First of all, head to Beadeaux. A cutscene should occur where Zeid will tell you that the Power of Darkness is starting to get out of control.
You need to collect one piece of strong Quadav's Blood. These are dropped of Topaz Quadavs in the same area. Note that if you are more than one Dark Knight doing this quest, you only need one piece of this blood and everyone will receieve their AF after the 3 NM's have been defeated.
Once the blood has been aqcuired, head to Delfkutt's Tower. and on the Seventh Floor you use the teleporter at J-6.
You should now end up in a small circle room at Sixth floor (J-6 again).
Buff up and be prepared for a tough fight. It is not easy and without proper planning it may be a very nasty fight.
There is a ??? which you trade in your Quadav Blood.
The strategy we used was this:
Have 3 designated tanks. One pulling away each skeleton as far away as possible. It is important that you do not engage these in the beginning since their AoE of HP drain would most likely be a disaster. Head for the Weapon first and try to kill it as soon as possible. Once the Weapon is defeated start picking on one of the skeletons at a time.
It is also very risky to trade in the blood. Your HP can go down very fast. Make sure that the healers are alert and cure this person up before the tank can get the hate.

Once all 3 mobs are defeated. Use the same teleport you used as when you came in and after this you will get a cutscene and the reward.

Paladin
AF Coffers
Beadeaux - Legs

AF 3
Start Area: Chateau d'Oraguille
Start NPC: Trion

After you obtain Mique's Paintbrush (key item), you need to head back to South San d'Oria and talk to Vemalpeau again (M-7). He will tell you that all of his son's belongings are still in his room upstairs. Head upstairs and investigate the painting on the wall. You will get an option to look at a strange piece of paper (letter), do so. Once you have the letter, head to the weapon shop (K-7) and talk to Exoroche. He will tell you that you need to dip the letter on a well in Davoi to have the ink appear. At this point you are now ready to head to Davoi
Head to Davoi, once in there make your way to the Village Well (G-9) by going through the S-E portion of the map. Note that level 58-59 you should be safe of aggro up until the intersection at H-10. At this point you will encounter some EP orcs to the north (where a treasure coffer spawns), and to the south (where the entrance to the Monastic Cavern is). Memorize this part of the map very well, because if the main NM battle goes wrong, what you want to do is run as fast as you can and zone into the Monastic Cavern. Especially if the tanks or damage dealers fall, have the mages zone and then come back.
The first thing you want to do is clear the area around the well from all the orcs. They con as EM or DC to a lvl 59-60 player (with the exception of the Orc Dreadnought, which is IT). Use this opportunity to get TP. Now, the are 2 relatively safe areas around the well where you can rest and regen MP. One is immediately to the south of the well, and another one to the north. In both of these 'rest' areas you can go up a small ledge in the wall and hopefully the orcs wont see you.
If you have a 3-PT alliance, what I suggest is the following: 1 PT will tank the paladin orc (One-Eyed Gwajbo), while the other 2 PTs will dispatch the ranger orc (Three-Eyed Prozpuz). The ranger orc hits hard, but goes down fast, whereas the paladin orc hits for less, but has a ton of HPs. If you have a 2-PT alliance, have 1 tank and 1 mage concentrate on the paladin orc, while everyone else takes care of the ranger orc.
The best way to tank the paladin orc and not lose hate is to load your TP to 300% before the fight (when you clear the area of orcs), and start with a provoke and immediately follow with a Spirits Within WS, which will do anywhere between 540-560 damage, then tank as usual.
Once you have killed the paladin Orc, a 'well weight' wlll drop. Trade it to the well and you will get a cutscene in which you will be able to read the contents of the letter. You are now done with Davoi.
Go back to North San d'Oria and speak with Ailbeche (J-9). He will make reference to a lake in Jugner Forest, where his 'friend' is fishing (if you did AF2, you know who I mean). Now go to Jugner Forest and head to the Maiden's Spring which is located in E-6 of the map. Once you approach the well, you will get a really cool cutscene in which most of the storyline from the quests will wrap up. After the cutscene, head back to San d'Oria and go to Prince Trion's Chamber in Chateau d'Oraguille. There you will get an even cooler cutscene and the end of your AF adventures.

Ranger
AF Coffers
Davoi - Body

AF 3
Start Area: Windurst Woods
Start NPC: Perih Vashai

This quest, if not properly prepared for, can hurt you financially. Buy a Gold Earring from the AH (or craft 1 (goldsmithing: 1 wind crystal + gold ingot + gold ingot), because you are going to need it during this mission. They tend to be going for about 60K on sylph

After you have completed Fire & Brimstone (a.k.a. Tribe of Fire) talk to perih to continue the search for the sinner. You are sent to Mhaura to find a mithra. she is standing in the corner of the Smithing guild in Mhaura. she tells you part of a story, and wont tell the rest until you give her a gold earring. Trade her the earring (that you brought along) and she continues her story about the sinner and xarcabard.
Follow the sinner to xarcabard, and a cut scene starts where the tracker talks to you. Go to the cave in E-7, and examine the ???. a cut scene starts where a tiger starts attacking you. then the battle begins. You must kill Koenigstiger to continue. Once you kill the tiger, go to the cave @ E-8. examine the ???. another cutscene happens. after that cut scene, examine the ??? at E-8 again to get a bonus prize of 99 ice arrows.

Travel back to Perih in windhurst and talk to her. you are rewarded the Hunter's Socks for your help and hard work.

White Mage
AF Coffers
Beadeaux - Gloves

Bard
AF Coffers
Castle Zvahl Baileys - Hands

AF 3
Start Area: Jeuno Port
Start NPC: Imasuke

Imasuke is an antique collector. He gives you a ring to investigate. Take it first to Xarcabard and bury it at I-10 and then wait a day and dig it back up again. Then take it to Chalvato at San D'oria Castle. He sends you to Davoi to an alter at J-8. Investigate the alter and the Ghost Bugaboo appears. Kill it and loot it to complete the quest.

Run down of AF Gloves
Start Area: Jeuno Upper
Start NPC: Guslam

Find the Coffer that contains your AF Gloves after starting the quest
After you received the old gauntlets, return to Guslam who says the gauntlets are work of Borghertz. But he cannot repair them.
You then have to go speak to “Yin Pocanakhu” in the Tenshodo shop in Lower Jeuno who talks about a toolbox that won’t open.
You have to pay her 1000gil to tell you where the toolbox is at.
Once you pay her, she then tells you she left the toolbox on top of a crate outside of the Duty-Free shop in Port Jeuno and that you can have it.
When you examine the ???, a cut scene happens and Borghertz says Very well. Bring “some shadow flames” from Castle Zvahl.
Leave it and those gauntlets inside my toolbox, and I shall restore the gauntlets.
Now you need go to Castle Zvahl Baileys and examine the torch at F-8. A NM bomb by name of “Dark Spark” will appear. Kill it and examine the torch a second time to get the key item "Shadow Flames".
After you received the flame return to Jeuno and re-examine the ??? outside of the Duty-Free to get your reward.

btw, the examine the tombstone thing for me is near where we went for papyrus... in that bomb room. someone will have to occupy the bomb for me while i do my business there. i might be able to go as samurai for this one. i'll try it later on and see if i can after opening the quest. the other thing in oztroja i've got no idea about job either. i have to scavenge and it's not a guaranteed thing.. i could be scavenging in that stupid leech pit for awhile dry.gif

I find it interesting that I *have* to be blm to activate the final part of my AF3. Anyway, like I said in shell the other day, I have the key for blm AF2 already ... can go up there to Baileys and solo that part (nothing will aggro, save NMs), all that remains is to grab another bag of seeds to replace the one I had to throw out awhile back. All those genkai runs I've done, I ended up pocketing a few things ... that item being one.

I've also tanked the NMs for pld AF2 and whm AF3 quite a few times, so there's no problems there ... just keep me healthy and it's all cool. Ranger AF3 ... whoo lord that mob is a bitch ... tiger just LOVES spamming Claw Cyclone for like 300-500 dmg ... probably one of the nastiest NMs in the game. I'm also looking forward to Bard AF3, lol. ^^a

Drk AF3 - Well, that explains the Quad blood we found in Beadeaux last night doesn't it??

Key hunts: [/joy] [fun] [excitement] [Skill][Up]??

LMK when you guys tackle getting keys, I wanna come along and grab some for myself. =p Plus, extra [Escape] + heals from my end would help. :x (Honestly, I have no one left I can ask for key help, they're all too busy being 'uber', plus I wanna hang out, I'm so lonely in game... sleep.gif; )

So how many keys are we looking at here anyway?? I would very much like to include Khao in on this as well for a few reasons, one being his personal request. Also, it would help me out a bit if I could get a couple of skillup sessions during these runs ... I'm actually getting really sick of monk, to be honest ... never thought I'd say that. Certainly would be a nice change to group up as a different job every now and again ...

Killing certain key mobs in certain zones would also prove beneficial for a few mage jobs out there ... **cough** ... as some mobs drop spells for blm/nin/brd/etc. Let's also not forget about the castle, that's some good farmin' ... ahyuck.

Another couple of nights of just hanging out and cutting a swath through the beastmen hordes would work too. A little less conversation, a little more action. All this postulation (?? fufufu) ain't satisfactionin' me.

Thank ya verry much.

i only need davoi/monastic, however i'd very much like to go along for oztroja as a) i have a key i need to use (in the off chance i get lucky that is) and cool.gif a lot of ninjitsu drops from those assassins. i'm free whenever, as i've basically retired sam for awhile and don't participate in LS activities for the time being.

Despite my chronic bouts of "dumb blonde" the other night in Baileys/Jeuno regarding the Shadow Flames ... I can now say I have all AF complete. Special thanks to Rinn for throwing those special switches in Helldieme just as day broke, allowing me to snatch up that juicy box and taking full unrequited enjoyment of the exquisite, succulent prize within.

"Almost sexual, isn't it Smithers??"

In other words, black mage pantsu are GO. HAMMER TIME!!

P.S. - fufufu??
